The next of your journey will take you to &Beyond Kirkman’s Kamp where you will embark on twice-daily game drives and interpretive nature walks. Track the Big Five in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, which share unfenced borders with the famous Kruger National Park, allowing them to benefit from the high wildlife numbers in this renowned park.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg
Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, you will be met by an andBeyond representative who will assist you onto your flight to &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve. On arrival at the airstrip you will be met by an &Beyond team member and transferred to the lodge.
Rejuvenate during your 3 night stay at andBeyond Phinda Mountain Lodge in a suite with ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives, a 1 hour nature walk, emergency medical evacuation insurance and laundry.
Day 2-3: Phinda Private Game Reserve
Apart from the usual morning and late afternoon game drive, you can choose to enjoy any of the additional adventures offered by the reserve, available at an additional cost. Get up close and personal with some of South Africa’s beautiful marine life or simply enjoy a day out on the beach. During the months of November to January, you can also choose to enjoy a turtle nesting adventure on the beaches after dark. This unforgettable adventure allows you to view these enormous reptilian sea creatures emerging from the Indian Ocean at Sodwana Bay to lay their precious eggs in the sand. Excitement builds as you drive along the deserted coastline under the moonlight in search of fresh turtle tracks.
If you are looking for an authentic taste of rural Africa life, opt for a cultural trip into the local village. Led by professional &Beyond guides who are themselves members of the local community, these tours encourage interaction with the local people. You will also enjoy the opportunity to spend time with a highly respected local sangoma, or traditional healer, and will visit the training school where she imparts her knowledge and skills to her students.

Set within easy reach of the Indian Ocean coastline and the famous iSimangaliso / Greater St Lucia Wetland Park in northern KwaZulu-Natal, &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve is known for its abundant wildlife, diversity of habitats and wide range of safari activities. Thanks to its coastal rainfall pattern, the Reserve enjoys a lush green environment that contains seven distinct ecosystems. &Beyond Phinda is often referred to as ‘Seven Worlds of Wonder.’ This fascinating variety of landscape and vegetation shelters an abundance of wildlife, including not only the Big Five but many rarer and less easily spotted species, such as the elusive cheetah or the scarce black rhino. With only a handful of lodges sharing an area of 28 555 hectares, and expert rangers and trackers in search of prime wildlife sightings, guests are assured an exclusive game viewing experience. Adding to Phinda’s wildlife charms, the marine diversity of nearby Sodwana Bay on the coast is easily accessible, with scuba diving, fishing and even turtle watching only some of the adventures available from Phinda.
Day 4 - 7: Kirkmans Kamp Sabi Sand Game Reserve
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where you will be met by an &Beyond representative and transferred by road to andBeyond Kirkmans Kamp.
Adventure awaits during your 3 night stay at andBeyond Kirkmans Kamp in a suite with ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on game drives, laundry, scheduled safari activities, a 1 hour nature walk, emergency medical evacuation insurance as well as transfers to and from the airstrip.

&Beyond Kirkman's Kamp
Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park
andBeyond Kirkman’s Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoiled wilderness, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. It is a well known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920’s, and celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead. The colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and guests step back in time upon entering the original homestead, which now houses the Lodge’s sitting, dining and bar areas. Each of the 18 guest cottages has a private veranda and is furnished in the same charming style with ensuite bathrooms. The large sitting room, with a 1920’s ambience, leads through double French doors onto rolling lawns that provide a velvety contrast to the wild and tumbling bush surrounding the Lodge. Breakfast and lunch are served on shady verandas, and dinners are shared in the dramatic boma or in romantic lanternlit bush settings.
