Day 1 – Arrival at Liwonde National Park
Morning – Arrive at Blantyre International Airport and meet your AOF guide at the airport for transfer to Liwonde National Park.
Afternoon – On arrival at the lodge in Liwonde, enjoy lunch at the main camp, and afterward an afternoon game-viewing boat cruise on Lake Malombe that provides a unique opportunity to view wildlife on the bank.
Evening – A welcoming dinner is served under the African night sky at Liwonde Main Camp.
Situated at the southern edge of Lake Malombe in the southern region of Malawi, Liwonde National Park stands as a cherished gem awaiting exploration. Rooted in history and dedicated to conservation, Liwonde National Park earned its status in 1973, thanks to the advocacy of Chief Liwonde, who recognized its significance for Malawi’s wildlife legacy. Presently, a collaborative effort comprising local village leaders, farmers, a judiciary, and African Parks, custodians of the Mvuu Wilderness Lodge, spearheads vigorous conservation initiatives. Furthermore, their commitment extends to fostering community development projects surrounding the park, pivotal in fortifying Liwonde’s reputation as a premier safari destination.
Day 2 – Liwonde to Lake Malawi
Morning – It’s an early start at dawn with coffee and a light breakfast before we head out on a morning game drive in Liwonde National Park.
Afternoon – Upon returning to the camp we pack up and lunch is served on the go as we travel from Liwonde National Park to Cape Maclear on Lake Malawi.
Evening – Upon arrival at the Lake it’s time to relax after the day’s travel and enjoy sundowners on the deck followed by a hearty lakeside dinner.
Day 3 – Exploring Lake Malawi
Spend the day enjoying the activities Lake Malawi has to offer including scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, fish eagle feeding from a boat, and hiking along the Lakeshore.

Day 4 – Return Transfer
Morning – Depart on a final early morning boat cruise and enjoy the sunrise and breakfast on the lake.
Afternoon – Transfer to Lilongwe airport for your departure flight from Malawi.
